What materials are used for your canvases and framed art?

Canvas: Our stretcher bars are crafted from responsibly sourced wood, FSC-certified. The canvas is a durable cotton-polyester blend, weighing between 300-350gsm and has a thickness of 350-400 microns.

Framed: Our frames are made from sustainably sourced oak and ash wood, while the paper, weighing 250 gsm, offers a sturdy foundation ideal for fine art, featuring a matte, uncoated, natural white (off-white) archival museum-quality finish. We only use FSC-certified paper and frames, in our bid to support sustainable practices.

 

How do I care for my canvas or framed artwork?

Avoid Moisture. Keep art away from humid environments like bathrooms, kitchens, and basements, where moisture can distort the canvas and cause mold growth. Avoid direct sunlight

Avoid Direct Sunlight. While some canvas prints are sun resistant, constant exposure to direct sunlight can fade and damage them. 

Dust Regularly. Use a soft-bristled brush or vacuum to remove dust from your canvas art, especially in folds and around flaps where mold and rot can grow. 

 

Can I return or exchange my artwork?

We want you to be satisfied with the quality of the artwork that you order from us. If you are not 100% satisfied with your order, please contact us within 30 days of receiving the item and we will provide you with a full refund once your return has been processed.

Your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. To process a return, please contact us or email us at info@thebotanists.co.uk

What should I do if my artwork arrives damaged?

If contacting us about a damaged order, please provide us with the following:

  • Pictures of the damaged item(s) and its packaging (inside & outside).
  • A description of the issue/damage.
